Rob Confirms Vamp Caesarean in 'Breaking Dawn'

TotalFilmHe's currently juggling filming with promotion duties on his new non-vamp flick Water For Elephants, and chatted to TF while in LA.

"Yeah, I’ve done it," RPattz laughed, "I’ve chewed it, spat it out!"

Though he's not allowed to give much more away (joking with Ryan Seacrest recently that he gets 'beaten' for revealing details), Pattinson promises that Breaking Dawn will be "very different to the other films - more like a horror film."

"Just some of the source material makes it inevitably more different. It's completely nuts, the book."

Rob in Elle Russia. New Interview and New Pic

Briefly coming out of "Twilight" to give "Water for Elephants", the most charming vampire in the world, Robert Pattinson talked with Galina Galkina.

- They say you agreed to participate in the movie "Water for Elephants" only after meeting your partner - Tai the elephant. How did she win you?
Rob: Her trainer asked me "Do you want to see what tricks she can do?" It turns out that Tai can do a parody of a horse and even a chicken! When the trainer asked her to show a horse, she did this "Frrr!" sound. How can you get an elephant to do this? She knows how to play ball and even can make a stand at the forelegs. And I thought, "This is an amazing animal! I was very lucky that I was invited to be in a movie with her!"

- Do you have pets?
Rob: For 18 years I had a dog. She died two years ago. Now I have another dog. I bought it two, no, three days ago.

- Really? What's the breed?
Rob: It's a little puppy, common mongrel. I took it from the animal shelter, he should have been put to sleep today. And now he's going to be my dog.

- How old is he? He cries at night?
Rob: Six months. No, he's very quiet. He hasn't utter a sound. This is very strange (laughs)

- Who do you want to be when you were a child?
Rob: When I was young, I dreamed of becoming a pianist, but later became interested in politics and decided that this was my future. And I decided to become an actor after all (laughs)

- Is there a talent that you would like to have?
Rob: I'd like to know how to dance. I'm very bad at dancing.

- What was the nickname you had as a child?
Rob: There isn't. Everyone called me by my name only

- Reese has admitted that she was very lucky that she had to kiss you. How can someone seduce you in real life?
Rob: I think if a girl is smart, talented and ambitious, then she has a chance (laughs) I've always liked that.

- Do you consider yourself beautiful?
Rob: I don't consider myself particularly beautiful! (Laughs)

- Can you describe yourself in three words?
Rob: Oh God! (Laughs) Well, I don't know. Yes! I don't know. It's three words (laughs)

- Have you ever dated several girls at once?
Rob: In real life?

- Yes, in real life
Rob: No, I don't think so

- A lot of people are afraid of the circus. Do you have a phobia? What are you afraid of?
Rob: Drowning. I can't stand to be under water

- Do you know how to swim ?
Rob: (laughs) I'm very bad at it. And I wouldn't want to learn how to do it better.

- Between the filming of "Twilight" and "Water for Elephants" you had to change your hair color - by yourself. Are you ready for other experiments?
Rob: I would really like to play a very fat man. I'd like tO get fat for some kind of role. This is so cool! (Laughs) But at the same time I am afraid that afterwards I can't lose weight and will stay fat man for the end of my life.

- And were you ever on a diet?
Rob: Yes (laughs) It's awful. I will need a diet soon because I have to appear without a shirt in one scene (laughs)

- I heard that you played Reese Witherspoon son in "Vanity Fair"?
Rob: Yes, it was my first role

- How interesting! And now you're playing her lover. At this pace she will soon play your daughter!
Rob: (laughs) And I am - her mother!

- Reese said that you laughed a loT on the set. When were you laughing for the last time?
Rob: I was shooting the final "Twilight" movie and I had to fight with another character. It's still stands before my eyes, how funny he did one move (tries to show it, sitting on a chair). Charlie Bewley had a huge cloak on, and he needed time to throw all this cloak away. When I talk, it does not seem funny, but if you saw how it happened, you would have laughed heartily too.

- And when were you fighting for the last time not in the movie?
Rob: I was probably 20 or 21 years old. It was very strange (laughs). One guy approached me and tried to rob me while I was with my five friends. I told him, "What are you doing?" (Laughs) So it was quite a small fight. We hit each other just for once. That's all.

- At the beginning of the film "Water for Elephants" Jacob is ninety years old, he lives in a nursing home. What do you think you'll be doing in, say, not seventy, but at least thirty years?
Rob: In thirty years I will be 54. I have no idea.

- Yes, when you're young time passes so quickly. But there's a lot of rumors about the end of the world. What do you think about this?
Rob: I'd like to think that the real threat of the end of the world will arrise when i'll still be alive, and then we'll all have to move to another planet (laughs). I really want to live on another planet. But in reality, this does not necessarily have to be the end of the world, so I hope all this does not happen.

- There's always rumours about you having a romance with Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Watson. Rumors about romance with what actress or singer it would have been nice to hear for you?
Rob: Hmm .. There is nothing good about these rumors (laughs). I'm trying to remember someone interesting, but no one comes to mind. Maybe someone, like .. No, nothing comes to mind. Sorry.

Rob talks about Kristen with MTV

MTV During his live 30-minute chat with us for "MTV First: Robert Pattinson," the actor discussed the differences between his outlook on the acting process compared to KStew's.

"We just have different ways of thinking," Pattinson explained. "I like the kind of cerebral aspect of things, and she has kind of an immediate emotional response to stuff every single time."

In fact, their approach to things in real life often reflects their decision-making as actors. "She can be thrown by something someone says and notices much more about people, whereas I just want to see the meaning of something," the 24-year-old star of "Water for Elephants" explained.

So, how does RPattz's more-mental approach to acting bode with KStew's responsiveness? While Pattinson admitted he's someone who can't take on a project until he entirely gets it, Stewart will be the first to point out what there is to "get" is actually right there in front of him.

"She's like, 'Why can't you understand? It's obvious. You don't know, you shouldn't be an actor!' " RPattz described with a laugh.

But, then again, his approach to his acting career is very much rooted in instinct. "I don't want to just act for the sake of acting," he told us. "If I'm not doing kind-of cool stuff, then I don't want to be in front of people."

The star, who confessed he doesn't even like having his picture taken, added, "All I want to do is make movies that I want to see. I've always tried to go for that and ... you've got to go through lots of different hurdles to go to that level."

While he will continue to look for projects that challenge and interest him, he fully admitted he's not the type of actor who has a deep-rooted passion for the craft.

"I don't know what that feeling is," he said of the desire to act. "It's like, 'What do you want to do?' 'I want to read someone else's lines right now! I want someone to film me saying something!' It's, like, really weird."

#9 ‘Water for Elephants’ (April 22)

Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon fall for each other under the big top in their new period drama based on the best-selling novel by Sara Gruen. ‘Water for Elephants’ follows an elderly man (Hal Holbrook) reminiscing about his days working as an animal caretaker at a circus. A young veterinary school student (Robert) witnessing the beauty and brutality of life under the big top, he falls for Marlena (Reese), the captivating star performer, and suffers the wrath of her charismatic but dangerous husband, August (Christoph Waltz).

Jodie Foster Talks About Kristen

The Hollywood Reporter's New Article/Interview with Jodie Foster.

Her Panic Room helmer, David Fincher, raves about Foster, and in particular her work with young co-star Kristen Stewart, noting: “She doesn’t get a lot of credit for it, but half the time I couldn’t even get in the room because it was so crowded with cameras and all this stuff. She is one of the great directors of children.”

Panic Room (2002)
"I just love [co-star] Kristen Stewart, but I didn’t think she’d choose to be an actress. I said to her mom, 'She doesn’t want that, right?' And she’s like, 'Well, yes, she kind of does.' Because she’s very much like me: She’s not comfortable in life being a big, externally emotional person, beating her chest, crying every five minutes. I felt she was such an intelligent technician, so interested in camera — I thought that would translate to other things."

Breaking Dawn Update: VanCity Shoots

"While I am told it is a flashback, it is unclear HOW FAR BACK this flashback is.

There are two theories:
1 - Flashback to Edward's human life (Green Eyes anybody?)
2 - Flashback to Edward's rogue days as a dark vampire feeding on humans(no-vegetarian diet for him if you catch my drift)

The second theory seems more likey since it references Midnight Sun and the architecture is more late 1920s than earlier 1900's. Though we know Edward was in an alley way feeding so maybe that is outside the theatre?"

And some VanCity papz reports new' rumored' location for 'Breaking Dawn', but still in B.C.

"After a relaxing nap...heres a couple tidbits from tonight. after filming Rob and Kristen went back to the trailers to get out of wardrobe. They then started the long and very unenvious task of heading to Squamish right after the shoot. Didnt even stop off 1 last time at the hotel. For the next 2 or more weeks #Twilight #BreakingDawn is up in Squamish."

Rob's #4 MTV Moment. Rob Kisses Kristen On Stage. 'MTV First' Countdown

Robert Pattinson later confessed that the kiss "didn't work," but there are legions of "Twilight" fans who would surely disagree. That smooch with Kristen Stewart, after all, might just be the closest any fan will ever get to seeing the duo lock lips in a setting where they're not pretending to be Forks, Washington, lovebirds.

It all went down at the MTV Movie Awards in June of last year, when Pattinson and Stewart took the stage to accept the Golden Popcorn statue for Best Kiss and ended up, awkwardly and charmingly, kissing onstage. The moment immediately became one of the most memorable in Movie Awards history, so it's no surprise that it's also one of our favorite RPattz moments — a top-five list we're counting down before the debut of "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" this Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET.

To fully understand the kiss, we've got to flash back to 2009, when the actors won their first Best Kiss award. Pattinson leaned into the mic and announced that he had to take the gum out of his mouth. He and KStew stared at each other as if readying for a kiss. They closed their eyes, leaned in, brushed noses — but that's as close as they'd get. "Thank you so much!" Stewart declared, before they scampered backstage.

A year later, they found themselves back onstage, once again accepting the Best Kiss win. "So I guess the thing to do — we're supposed to kiss each other," Stewart said. "But to be perfectly honest with you, it takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to make us look good kissing. We don't want to let you guys down. We'll give it a shot."

Much like the year before, they seemed to be teasing the audience with the prospect of a Robsten kiss without actually delivering one. Until they did. And the Twi-verse imploded. That didn't stop Pattinson from telling us afterward that he wasn't all that pleased with how things went.

"I had the best ideas last night," he told us backstage. "And I was telling everyone, 'Listen, just leave it to me, I've got it all under control.' I was telling everyone all these ideas. I gave them a whole selection and no one thought they were funny, so then we ended up doing something which didn't work."

RPattz may not have loved the way things turned out, but the onstage bit they went with sounded a lot better than some of those other ideas of his. "He wanted to be hula-hooping with a match in his mouth, and then he wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula-hooping, and he wanted to put it in my mouth and see if we could make our way over to each other," Stewart told us later. "It didn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. I was like, 'I can't juggle onstage in shoes. I can barely walk up the stairs.' "

Don't miss "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" this Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Tune in to see RPattz introduce a new "Water for Elephants" clip, followed by a live 30-minute interview on MTV.com. Tweet questions using the hashtag #askrob to get in the conversation!

'Water for Elephants' Production Notes

Francis Lawrence on Rob: "I thought Rob was Jacob Jankowski. It was difficult to find a young man of age 23 or 24 who didn't seem too young for the part. Rob was already a man. He is thoughtful, intelligent, empathetic, strong and confident."

Rob Quotes: "Someone sent me the book and I immediately connected to it."
"Jacob notices Marlena's beauty and charisma right away. He also notes her strong bond with animals she works with during her performances; that's another thing they share."
Somehow it seemed that Francis and Richard had added more to the story."
"Jacob is mysterious and quiet. He's an observer. He's always watching people and he has an intuitive relationship with the animals and a deep understanding of human nature."
"Rosie's demeanor is so fascinating that it magnifies the characters' experiences with her. And I exactly feel the same way working with Tai, I've never been next to an enormous that is so graceful and careful around people."

Breaking Dawn crews are scheduled to begin prepping for the scenes tomorrow, and Pattinson and Stewart are expected to arrive around 5:30am Monday morning.

'Breaking Dawn' Update: Filming Has Been Delayed. Tofino Shoot Evacuated in Tsunami Warning

PeopleMag With Hawaii and the North American West Coast placed on tsunami advisories early Friday after an 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck in Japan, the Vancouver Island beach area in British Columbia where Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart and the rest of the Wolf Pack are filming the Twilight series' Breaking Dawn has been evacuated.

The actors are not believed to be in any danger, but for safety measures they apparently have been moved out of the region. The town where production is taking place, Tofino, contains a long stretch of open coast on the furthest westerly point of the island and was seen in the earlier The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Tinsel Korey, 30, who plays Makah Emily Young in the movies, rather dramatically Tweeted Friday: "They're evacuating us 4 a tsumnani [sic] warning. If this … is my last my tweet. I love you. The end. Hugz."She later added, "If this is the moment. Then I've lived a good life. And I'm thankful 4 everything I've been given."

Updated! According to LaineyGossip Kristen is not on the Tofino set.
Vancouver Island has been put on tsunami warning. Twilight production was in Tofino – cast and crew were reportedly moved. People.com mentioned that Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were among them. Just some clarification on this since you Twi-Hards seem to be panicking about Juliet being without her Romeo Rob in this time of crisis.

The wolves were there, yes. But contrary to the story in People, I have heard from two locktight slamdunk infallible witnesses who SAW Kristen Stewart last night at the Sheraton Wall Centre. It was late. Well past the time that any travel to Vancouver Island would have been possible. She was with her bodyguard/manager/best friend/whatever John. John stepped out of the hotel shortly after to run some errands. In other words, Thursday night, she was tucked into bed safe with her boyfriend.

Rob Sings the Blues - New Pic from Vanity Fair Shoot

VanityFairSing us a song, piano man—let’s start with “Happy Birthday.” New Orleans’s Preservation Hall—where Annie Leibovitz shot young Robert Pattinson, shown tickling the ol’ 88 with the world-famous Preservation Hall band—celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Situated in the French Quarter, the music venue is one of the country’s most hallowed: it was founded in 1961 for the purpose of preserving New Orleans–style jazz, and indigenous American music. On his first-ever visit to the Quarter, Pattinson jammed with the house band and thoroughly held his own—his celebrity perhaps subsumed by that of the musicians, whose legendary status awed everyone on set. “When we first started, none of us knew that Robert really does play piano,” says Ben Jaffe, the tuba player (center, above), the band’s director, and the son of the venue’s founders. “But when he got up there, he started ticking out these notes, and it was obvious he wasn’t just tinkling—he really knew how to play.” Though the musicians were expecting the actor to just pose, Pattinson gamely jammed along with their tunes. After finishing a song, he leaned over to Jaffe “and said, ‘That’s the first time I’ve played with a group of guys like that,’” Jaffe recalls. Not a shabby gig—especially with Jaffe’s homemade red beans and rice waiting as reward.

On the landmark birthday, Jaffe says he and the rest of the band are humbled: “It’s really momentous for us to reach this moment in our history, considering everything New Orleans has been through in the last five years,” he says. “It’s really a testament to the strength of the people of this city.” Preservation Hall endured a several-month hiatus post-Katrina and reopened in May 2006, structure miraculously intact. We say miraculously, because the hall’s charm is that it looks as though it might collapse at any moment—it’s one big happy jalopy of a 350-year-old structure, with all the glorious paint-peel-y, rusty-hinged patina of a Clementine Hunter painting. It strains at the seams with ambiance. And we hope, lack of air conditioning and all, that it never changes.

Lee Pace talks about Kristen, Rob, Bill Condon, and Breaking Dawn

E!OnLine-MarcMalkin It's not every day that actors like Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson become as big as they have without changing at least a tiny bit. But it's true. As I've always said, these two are the same today as they were when they first signed up for Twilight.

And one of their newest Twi-costars couldn't agree more...

"Kristen hasn't lost any of that stuff that makes her special," Lee Pace, who is playing Edward's vampire BFF Garrett in the Breaking Dawn flicks, tells me. "People say it's quirky, but I think it is authentic.

"She doesn't march down these red carpets like a show monster," the former Pushing Daisies star continued. "You see these girls and they're all just like, 'I'm living the fantasy. I'm wearing $10,000 worth of clothes and jewelry.' Kristen's just not like that. Kristen is just her."

The same for Mr. Pattinson. "The thing about him that is so charming is what you see is what you get," Pace said. "He is as charming and humble and handsome as he presents himself. Totally what you see is what you get with him."

Pace also said that director Bill Condon's take on the movies is a bit more "dark" than the previous three movies. "Bill Condon is cooling up these movies," he said. "I hope that doesn't get me in trouble with anyone, but he's cool...He really is killing it with this one. He's making it cool. Bill is finding that stuff and letting it be as shocking as it can be, but stylish, too."

Pace returns to filming Breaking Dawn this week after taking a three-week vacation to India. "I wear bright red contacts," he said. "I feel so plain and boring when I take them out."

NYPost PopWrap: "The Fall" is a visual feast and most of your films have been indies, so a lot of people were surprised by you taking on a role in the upcoming "Twilight" two-part finale. What made you sign on?
Lee: Bill Condon. He's great and just killing it with this movie. It’s gonna be the cool “Twilight.” He’s adding a level of style that is just awesome. I’ll be honest, I went in to this a little like “you know what you’re getting into, just do what you can.” But it’s been awesome fun.

PW: So you like playing a vampire then?
Lee: Yea, it’s really fun. It’s easy and fun to bring that side out of you. Both parts are fascinating. After reading them, I understand the huge sensation around them. And can I tell you something, Kristen Stewart just looks like a proper movie star. Not like a teen sensation. She walks on set and its pure movie star-ness. And you don’t see that very often.
